Domestic Abuse Awareness
The Domestic Abuse Awareness Committee (D.A.A.C.) is dedicated to expanding education and awareness about physical and emotional abuse to children and adults. Several programs have been developed for Action Through Community Service (ACTS) and the Turning Points Domestic Violence Shelter in Prince William County, including redecorating the safe house's handicapped-accessible room (see above).
Our committee recently adopted two new charities: CASA of Greater Prince William, (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which serves 400 abused, neglected and abandoned children within the county court system and Prevent Child Abuse Virginia, which is a GFWC Virginia statewide project for 2010.
